In the old Sicilian tradition, “mavara” is the sorceress with healing powers, the one who can give life and death. This choreographic form combines circus and marionette in order to investigate the secret powers of objects and the influence they have on our daily lives. Marionettes or ex-voto? The show MAVARA is the story of an impossible balance on a slack wire swinging between human and inhuman investigating the cultural archetypes and their influence on our everyday life.
